I just read through my past journals and it seems this is my 14th lit competition here on DA, and my 17th competition overall, which is jolly! I have obviously been gone a long time so I wanted to meet people from the lit community and get involved again so this seemed like a good idea, plus obviously its almost Christmas so why the hell not!
The Theme
This year I asked my 7 closest friends to write their favourite memory from 2012 on a piece of paper about each of the other 7 (including me). They will all go into envelopes and on New Years Eve each person will get an envelope with these letters from the other 7 people about them. This is a great way to remind you of how far you have come in the past year, remember the best days and nights of that year, to feel loved, and it provides a permanent reminder that you can go back to in twenty years and remember this year. The Literature Community ExperimentThis is a typical example of a ^Beccalicious shower pondering! The idea of this is to try and bring together as many people as possible all in one journal, but not for the sake of making a big number, but to encourage interaction and share useful tidbits. We often say the "literature community" has drifted apart over the past few years and this is just one attempt to try get people to come back together. It's a little hippy, perhaps a far-fetched idea, which is why I am calling it an "experiment". This could be successful and could be a complete fail- only you guys and your efforts can decide its fate!

Hello there and welcome to the first ever Communal Karma. This will (hopefully) be a new monthly feature I will do.
In the Communal Karma series I will highlight the devious little squirrels who have suggested DD's in the past month. To do this I will collect the names of the suggesters from the past months DD's. I am aware, of course, that many other deviations are being suggested to our lovely and all powerful overlords but I don't have access to those!
The point of this feature is to make those who support the literature community get seen themselves, a karmic reward for doing good and expecting nothing in return. It might also encourage more people to suggest incredible literature for the site-wide feature, which is also great because it means that the CV's will have eyes and ears all over the site finding amazing unseen gems to share with the rest of us.

All entries must be made specifically for this contest and this contest alone.

Correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation are required (unless incorrect spelling/grammar/punctuation is intended for a poem).

To invoke inspiration, we have selected a format that group members must write in; we do this in hopes of motivating members to try and expand their abilities in other forms of writing. a last line to be used at the end of the work;
a word to help invoke uniqueness for the piece.

You've all seen these, I am sure. The idea is one person starts a story with a single sentence. Each participant writes a comment that adds another sentence to continue the story. You can leave as many comments as you'd like, but no two can be back to back. Please make sure you read previous comments so you know what general direction the story is headed.

Some ground rules:

The story will be written in third person omniscient which allows us to be in any character's head at any time. But try not to do too much jumping as that gets confusing.

Absolutely stick to the ONE sentence per comment rule. They can be compound sentences.

Start with one of your own stories. In January of 2012, the community was challenged by `thorns to do something about their complaints on dA. Thus was born this very group! But before the group, it was just a fledgling idea on `Kneeling-Glory's account that began with a DD Suggestion Contest. The results of that contest were overwhelming. And so, under the prodding of quite a few Community Volunteers, we're going to do it again!

A Winter Romance Contest

Summer romance's may be fleeting at times, but winter love is where the magic is. There's always something enchanting about the frost on windshields, that fluffy white snow nipping at your mittens and your nose all red before coming inside for some coco and a warm heater (or even better, a good old fashion fireplace). Winter's well known for bringing out the traditions and little children in all of us this time of year.

Prompt:

It would be simply too easy to tell you to have at writing a Winter Romance without throwing in a twist! You're inclined to write your winter romance and let your imagination's simply go with the flow, but to keep a fairly consistent flow, there's an additional section that you must take into consideration when writing. Your submission must not only focus on a winter romance, but try to also incorporate one of these cryptic ideas (up to author's interpretation):
